The Ministry of Education on Monday appealed to the National Executives of Ghana National Association of Teachers to liaise with the other labour unions to work together for the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure.
A release signed by Mr Paul Kofi Krampa, Deputy Director, Head of Pubic Relations said; "We appreciate the concerns of the teachers for an early implementation of the scheme and wish to explain that the delay in the implementation of the new salary structure is largely due to the reluctance of some organizations to be part of this unitary system."
It said the Ministry was very concerned about the welfare of all those who are in the education sector and that it is doing everything possible to ensure that their interests and that of the nation were best served.
The Ministry said; "in the meantime, we wish to assure all teachers that the Ministry is working hard to ensure the quick resolution of the issues involved to ensure an early implementation of the single spine salary structure.
"We wish to, once again appeal to our teachers to exercise maximum restraint and patience while we await the new salary structure."
