A Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced Bright Future, a cobbler to two years imprisonment for stealing a ram and two nanny goats, belonging to Iddrisu Malik of Hohoe and Manfred Brempong of Santrokofi-Benua near Hohoe.
Bright pleaded guilty to the charges.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Emmanuel Kpodo told the court presided over by Mr Edward Apenkwa that Bright stole a ram valued at 70 Ghana cedis on May 12, this year, at Hohoe, and mortgaged it for 30 Ghana cedis under the care of a witness in the case.
He said the caretaker of the pen where Bright deposited the ram informed members of the community watch committee when Malik reported his missing ram.
Police Inspector Kpodo said Bright was arrested and he admitted the offence and after investigations charged.
In another development Bright stole two nanny goats valued at 110 Ghana cedis belonging to Mr Brempong on May 5, and was arrested and prosecuted.
