The Bawku West District Assembly in Upper East Region is to spend about 300,000 Ghana Cedis in the rehabilitation of roads that were affected by floods last year.
The project initiated by Government and being sponsored by World Bank was part of measures to assist in rehabilitating areas affected by the floods.
Mr Desmond Bugbilla, Bawku West District Chief Executive disclosed this to Ghana News Agency in Zebilla on Friday.
He said the project would cover four main roads, these were, Kubore-Sapelliga 12.6 kilometres, Zebilla-Teshie-Soogo, seven kilometres, Zebilla-Zabre nine kilometres and Kukruzua-Widnaba 8.4 kilometres.
Mr Bugbilla said work had already stated and contractors were working on them and on completion would help facilitate movement of goods and services especially during the rainy season.
He said Kobore-Sapelliga road, Zebilla Township and the hospital road would be tarred work would commence soon.
Mr Bugbilla said about 149 boreholes and wells that were destroyed during floods would also be rehabilitated to ease water problem in the area.
