Six additional trucks of United Nations food aid have reached Gaza, a Palestinian spokesman said Sunday.
The trucks delivered 210 metric tons of flour from the U.N. World Food Program to the territory, which descended into violence last month because of a power struggle between Fatah and Hamas.
When Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip, the area was promptly closed off, sparking fears of a humanitarian disaster.
To prevent large-scale suffering, the United Nations has delivered 510 metric tons of flour so far, and has plans to deliver 2,544 metric tons of flour, sugar and other staples, RIA Novosti reported.
