Commodore James Adongo Agambire, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), has undertaken a familiarisation tour of the Command at NAVTRAC, Nutekpor, in the South Tongu Municipality.
The tour was to enhance coordination and engagement with personnel as the Command begins the 2026 training year.
The tour took the Commodore to the various units and schools within the Command, where he interacted with officers, ratings and Defence Civilian Staff. It afforded him firsthand insight into operations, training activities and support services delivered by the respective establishments.
Addressing personnel during the visit, Commodore Agambire commended them for their dedication and underscored the need to maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline and commitment in the discharge of duties.
He encouraged the personnel to approach the new training year with focus and teamwork, adding that NAVTRAC remained committed to advancing capacity development and operational readiness.
The FOC also engaged unit commanders to discuss operational issues and challenges confronting their setups, and assured personnel of the Command’s willingness to work collaboratively to address identified gaps and enhance operational efficiency and welfare.
The NAVTRAC is responsible for providing professional and specialised training for Ghana Navy personnel; and plays a central role in developing the human resource capacity required for maritime security operations and naval support functions.
