Mawunyo Komla Adjei, an advocate for inclusive education, is set to attempt a Guinness World Record (GWR) for the Longest Title of a Braille Book in July 2025. This ambitious endeavour aims to capture global media attention and raise awareness to establish the first state-of-the-art braille library in the Volta Region of Ghana, enhancing access to education for the visually-impaired.
Following an approval from GWR, the proposed braille library will serve as a beacon of hope, empowering visually-impaired individuals with the tools to learn, grow, and thrive.
To ensure the success of this historic initiative, the high school tutor cum social entrepreneur is calling for support from the government, corporate bodies, publishers, and stakeholders.
Financial contributions, technical guidance, and partnerships are essential to bring this vision to life. Collaborative efforts will not only facilitate the GWR attempt but also lay the foundation for a lasting legacy of educational equity in the country.
“This Guinness World Record attempt is more than a milestone,” said Mawunyo Komla Adjei. “It’s a movement to transform lives through education. Titled ‘Where to find love...’, the braille book blends personal development and satire into an art that the over 600,000 Ghanaians with severe visual impairment would love.”
The public is invited to join this transformative journey by contributing to the cause, sharing the campaign, and following updates on the progress of the record attempt and library project.
