The Ghana Police Service has issued a statement commending the general public for their cooperation during the presidential and vice-presidential swearing-in ceremony held in Accra on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
According to a press release signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the police particularly noted the understanding shown by the motoring public during the implementation of temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Accra.
The statement affirmed the service's commitment to maintaining peace, security, law and order across the country while seeking continued public support for their operations.
The inauguration ceremony saw President John Dramani Mahama and Vice-President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang take their oaths of office.
Security arrangements included strategic deployment of personnel and coordinated traffic management to ensure the event proceeded smoothly.
