Reverend Leonard Aglomasa, National Facilitator of Good News Choir and District Pastor of Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana, Gbi Abansi, Hohoe has called on citizens to reaffirm their commitment to peace and reconciliation during the Christmas season.
He said there was the need for citizens to let the love of Christ guide them in their interactions with one another, fostering an environment where dialogue flourished and understanding prevailed.
Rev. Aglomasa in a Christmas message said, "as we celebrate with our families, friends and communities, let us also remember those who are less fortunate and those in need of our compassion and support".
He said Christmas was a time of joy, reflection, and hope while this year's Christmas held a special significance for Ghanaians particularly in light of the recent 2024 general elections.
"The journey through the electoral process has been a challenge for many of us, filled with emotions of hope, anxiety and anticipation".
Rev. Aglomasa said as the nation transitioned into a new season of governance and
leadership, citizens must remember the essence of Christmas being the message of peace, goodwill, and unity.
He urged all citizens to embrace a heart of forgiveness and understanding adding that "we may have our differences but as children of God, we are called to rise above division and work towards a collective future that reflects our shared values and aspirations".
Rev. Aglomasa said just as the shepherds found joy in the announcement of Christ's birth, citizens could also find joy in working together for the common good of the country.
"Let us try to work together as a people of one nation and one destiny with love and care.
"Let us celebrate not only the birth of Jesus but also the hope that comes with new beginnings. Together, we can build a Ghana that reflects the love, justice, and compassion of our Savior".
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Blagodzi, Volta North Regional Commander, addressing parishioners of the St Augustine Catholic Church, Hohoe said their peaceful conduct and cooperation with the police had led to a peaceful election in the Constituency.
He urged them to celebrate the festive season in moderation and be security conscious.
