Ghana has announced a new visa policy to boost tourism and make travel more convenient for visitors during the festive season.
From December 1, 2024, to January 15, 2025, travellers can enter Ghana without the need for pre-approval, enjoying a seamless Visa-on-arrival process.
This initiative is part of the celebrated ‘December in GH’ campaign, which falls under the broader “Beyond the Return” programme aimed at promoting Ghana as a top destination for culture and heritage tourism.
The policy is designed to encourage more visitors to experience Ghana’s vibrant December festivities, rich cultural heritage, and dynamic events.
“This is a game-changer for travellers who want to immerse themselves in the spirit of Ghana during this festive season,” said Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
To ensure smooth implementation, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Minister of Transport, has directed airlines operating in Ghana to promptly update their systems to accommodate the new policy.
With December in GH featuring colourful festivals, concerts, and cultural experiences, officials are urging travellers to take advantage of the hassle-free entry and explore everything Ghana has to offer.
