KATH CEO wins outstanding Leadership Award

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah has been named the Outstanding CEO of the Year 2024 at the CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards.

The prestigious event, organized in collaboration with E4Impact Foundation, Italy honoured his immense contribution to quality healthcare delivery at the referral facility.

The award recognizes Prof. Addai-Mensah’s exemplary leadership in driving healthcare transformation at KATH since his appointment in December 2022.

He was presented with a citation, a medal, and a plaque as tokens of appreciation for his significant contributions to the healthcare sector in Ghana.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Addai-Mensah expressed gratitude to the hospital’s board, management team, staff, and patients, highlighting their collective efforts in achieving the milestone.

“This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire KATH family as we remain committed to providing the highest standard of care and continuing to drive innovation in Ghana’s healthcare landscape,” he stated.

The award was presented by Mr. Stephen Fosu, CEO of CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards, and Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Kwarteng, a board member of the awards scheme and Registrar of Wisconsin International University College.

Explaining the rationale for selecting Prof. Addai-Mensah, Mr. Kwarteng lauded his visionary leadership and measurable impact on healthcare outcomes.

“The award serves as a testament to his visionary leadership and the ongoing transformation of KATH into one of the leading medical institutions in West Africa,” he said.

Since taking office, Prof. Addai-Mensah has spearheaded initiatives that have yielded remarkable improvements in healthcare delivery at KATH, earning widespread recognition.

The CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards, accredited by the Independent Award Standards Council UK, celebrates individuals and organizations that make exceptional contributions to Africa’s business ecosystem.

This year’s award underscores Prof. Addai-Mensah’s pivotal role in enhancing healthcare standards and innovation in Ghana.
