GCB Bank, Ho main branch, Wednesday presented a cash amount for some building materials to the Volta Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association towards its press centre project.
The donation followed an appeal by the Association for support towards the project, which is to serve as a regional secretariat, a rallying point for media practitioners, and a resource centre.
Mr Elvis Tanson, Acting Regional Manager, GCB Bank, Volta, said the gesture was to build on the relationship between the Bank and media practitioners to become "inseparable."
He underscored the role of the media in promoting conducive business environment and stated the commitment of the Bank to media development for mutual benefit.
"We are into this together. Journalists are friends and customers of the Bank and we are hoping to be partners for life."
Mr Tanson said GCB Bank had transformed its operations through the use of Information Technology with improved customer relations and invited prospective customers to join the GCB family now.
Mr A. B. Kafui Kanyi, Regional Chairman, GJA-Volta expressed gratitude to GCB Bank and other partners including Exim Bank, Afe Lotto, Berock Ventures, Loggu Motors, Go Energy Company Limited and the Volta Regional Coordinating Council for investing in the media.
He said the project when fully completed would improve the GJA brand, offer accommodation to visiting journalists and generate income for the Association.
