The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Kwaku Asoma-Cheremeh will today Tuesday April 2, begin a two-day tour of some mining companies and forest reserve in the Western, West North, Central and Ashanti Regions.
The Minister, accompanied by his Deputy Minister in charge of Mines, Madam Naana Eyiah, will visit Ghana Manganese Company at Nsuta and Ghana Bauxite Company at Awaso.
A statement signed and issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry in Accra on Tuesday, said the Minister and his entourage will inspect Canada-Ghana Alaska mining site at Diaso in the Central Region and also visit the Apaparama Forest Reserve in the Ashanti Region.
The visit, will among other things, afford the Minister the opportunity to ascertain the progress being made on the auditing of the mining firms by government and assess the state of the forest reserve.
