The National Investment Bank, (NIB) has donated assorted items valued at Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢30,000) to the Kumasi Children’s Home. The donation is in line with the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The occasion was also used to clean-up the rooms and the premises of the orphanage. The Head of the Ashanti/Brong Ahafo Zonal Office of NIB, Mr.
Richard Antwi said the support given to the Children’s Home is a way of giving back to the community. He added that NIB is passionate about the wellbeing of children because they are the future leaders of every nation.
He explained that it is important to help deprived and abandoned children. This he said is to give them a better chance at becoming responsible adults and the future leaders that is expected of them.
The Deputy Social Welfare Director of Ashanti Region, Madam Love Christy Adu, and other officials who received the items expressed gratitude to NIB for the gesture and appealed for continuous support. She said most times, the orphanage receives donations of items but lacked cash needed to take care of other expenses of the orphanage and called on other organizations to emulate NIB.
