The Management and Staff of MTN Ghana on Wednesday donated some items and a cash amount of GH¢5000 to Sheikh Osumanu Nuhu Sharabutu in Accra. The items include 10 bags of rice, five cartons of vegetable oil, boxes of mineral water, 20 packs of soft drinks, a Ram and GH¢500 worth of airtime.
Mr Salihu Abu, Senior Manager, Customer Service and Credit Management at MTN Ghana, said the Holy month of Ramadan was a period during which Almighty Allah opens His doors of mercy, forgiveness and blessings upon Muslims and mankind. He said in a few days’, Ramadan would be coming to an end and Muslims in Ghana and around the world will be celebrating Eidul Fitr.
“The end of Ramadan is a time of joy as we extol the values of the Islamic faith; empathy, charity, holiness and patience. We at MTN believe that these values help us in cultivating relationships and forging a better and stronger social fabric as a people.”
Mr Abu said MTN Ghana had for the past 11 years enjoyed a very good relationship with the Muslim Community. This, he said, as a results of the long-standing relationship, MTN Ghana extended its support to the Muslim community in Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale by donating to the Regional Chief Imams and sponsorship of Sallafest in Nima and Accra Newtown.
“We also continue to support the Hajj Board with our products to facilitate their work. Last year, MTN refurbished the lodging area at Hajj Village with over GH¢200,000.” Mr Abu said MTN Ghana would ensure that its products and services would be available for the customers during Eidul Fitr with data activations being carried out throughout the period at vantage points.
“As we collectively strive to build a better society, we are delighted to share with you that MTN Ghana recently launched its Initial Public offer (IPO), which is giving opportunity to every Ghanaian to own part of the company.“The shares are going for 0.75 pesewas per share and one can purchase in multiples of ten (10). This means that with just Gh¢ 7.50 one can own shares in MTN Ghana”.
He said MTN Ghana advises interested persons to speak to financial investment expert for in-depth understanding before making a decision to buy the shares. Sheikh Sharubutu thanked the management of the MTN Ghana for the gesture and for remembering of the Muslim community during the month of Ramadan.
He said the month of Ramadan was important to Muslims as the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad in the month of Ramadan. Sheikh Sharubutu prayed for the management of the MTN Ghana, the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the country at large for peace, unity, stability and wisdom.
