A 34-year-old trader, Yaw Adjie was on Tuesday sentenced to prison for eight months for stealing two nanny goats at Ntankoful.
He pleaded guilty.
Inspector Seth Ahelegbe told the court presided over by Mrs Roberta Enyonam Otriso that on May 11, the convict, a resident of Ntankoful, was spotted by one Aba Nketsia untying the two goats belonging to Madam Yaa Ampomaah and reported the matter to the owner of the goats.
Inspector Ahelegbe said the witness also saw the taxi cab that conveyed the goats and upon investigations they found the driver of the taxi cab, Kwesi Awu.
Kwesi Awu upon interrogation mentioned Adjie as the one who hired him to convey the goats.
Inspector Seth Ahelegbe said the taxi driver then took them to a house at Fijai where Adjie had sent the goats.
There they found that the goats had been killed and were being prepared for khebabs.
He said Adjie was arrested and sent to the Effiakuma Police Station.
