Mr Joseph K. Onyinah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, has urged students to uphold the values of hard work and self-discipline.
Mr Onyinah was speaking at the launch of the 40th anniversary celebration of the Toase Senior High School (SHS) at Toase in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District.
He asked students to take responsibility for their education by desisting from acts of lawlessness that were likely to disrupt the schools’ academic calendar.
He condemned recent students’ disturbances in some SHS in the region and said it was important for all to accept to go by the laid
down procedures for redressing grievances.
Vandalizing school property could never be justified and he warned this would not be entertained.
Mr J.K. Asibey, the first Headmaster, said the school had within its four decades of existence made significant academic progress with its products found in all sectors of the economy.
The school until 1971 was a teacher training college.
Mr Annor Yeboah, the Headmaster, praised the pioneer teachers and students for the solid academic foundation and pledged to continue to build on this.
He also recognized the significant contribution the old students association to its growth.
