Four teenage pupils of the Richard Greame School near Samahu who were knocked down by an Opel Vectra with registration number AS 113 G are in a stable condition at the ABA Goldfields Hospital.
They are; Vida Oppong, 15, Joyce Ayensu, 14 years, Comfort Arthur, 14 and one other who is yet to be identified is still in intensive care.
A fifth victim Janet Arhin, 12, was treated and discharged on yesterday at the Tarkwa government hospital where she was an in-patient.
A hospital source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the children were rushed to the hospital in a critical condition and one of them had to be rushed to the theatre for a life saving surgery.
The source said they are now stable but they needed to be observed for a while since they sustained various degrees of injuries on the head, face, hands and legs.
It would be recalled that at around 1320 hours, an Opel Astra car with registration number AS 113G from Bogoso and heading towards Tarkwa was
attempting to overtake a KIA truck and in the process run into the school children who were walking along the Tarkwa-Bogoso main road and later crashed into a house near the Samahu Community Centre.
