The Western Regional Police Command has intensified patrols to combat armed robbery and other crimes in the Region ahead of Christmas.
Alhaji Hamidu Mahama, the Regional Police Commander, in an interview with GNA in Sekondi on Wednesday, said the Police cum Military were
patrolling the highways and communities in the Region.
He said: "At the moment, there is both police and military patrols in the Region whilst Police presence had been increased at the various
pedestrian crossings to ensure public safety during the yuletide and beyond".
Alhaji Mahama said that the Police and Community Police Unit would also direct traffic at the various traffic intersections.
He said that the Region recently suffered armed robberies at Enhi, Asankragwa, Tarkwa, Bia, Juabeso, Half Assini, Sefwi-Wiawso, Asawinso Bonsu Nkwanta, Attaboka, Sefwi-Bodi and other places.
