Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, Commodore Timothy Samuel Appiah, has said the Command would ensure security at the Ghana/Cote d'Ivoire border.
He said the military would perform its functions with a high sense of patriotism and would not fail.
Commodore Appiah said this at an Award and Dinner Dance organized by the Takoradi International Company (TICO) at Aboadze to climax its 10th anniversary at the weekend.
He said the Command had beefed up security at the Ghana/Cote d'Ivoire border in order to deal with any eventuality as a result of tension
following the disputed election.
The Board Chairman of TICO, Mr. Ramanathan Balachandar, said the TICO would make use of the natural gas from the Jubilee Oil Fields to generate more energy since it is much cheaper producing power with gas.
He said the company would invest more resources in power generation.
Mr. Balanchandar said the TICO was committed to unearth human resource potentials in its catchments area and would continue with the Kramer Scholarship Scheme instituted by the first General Manager of the company.
Some workers of the company were presented with awards for their contribution to successes TICO had chalked over the past 10 years.
