The seventh Going Green Premier Walk for Health and Security will come on in Accra on Saturday, December 4.
Mr Noah Acolatse, Country Manager of Mepha Limited, a pharmaceutical research development and manufacturing company, who made this known in Accra said about 500 members including parliamentarians, religious leaders, health
practitioners and security personnel are expected to participate in the walk.
He said the event being organised by Premier Point Chemists in collaboration with the Premier Neighbourhood Development and Charity Foundation is aimed at greening Accra to realise its potential as the capital of West Africa.
Mr Acolatse said the walk would promote an urban regeneration concept that would see Accra as the preferred destination in West Africa for
business, relaxation and tourism.
He said the event would start from El-wak Stadium to Ako Adjei Interchange through to Independence Avenue to Labone Junction through Oxford Street to AU Village back to El-wak.
Mr Acolatse said there would be focus group discussion of experts from various stakeholders groups to deliberate on how Accra could be
re-engineered to be the model city in West Africa.
He said there would be free medical screening including body mass index determination, body fat and blood pressure checks.
