A 31-year-old plumber, Kojo Eyi, has appeared before a Circuit Court in Cape Coast for inflicting multiple razor blade wounds on one Mr Samuel Awuye, whom he suspected of having an affair with his ex-wife.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing harm and was remanded into police custody to reappear on Monday, December 13.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Francis Ockom, told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Asare Nyarko that Eyi had three children with his ex-wife known as Ewura Esi, a chop-bar operator at Anarfo market, while Mr Awuye, a cleaner at GCB in Cape Coast, was her regular customer.
He said on Sunday, November 28, at about 19:30 hours, Mr Awuye paid a visit to the sister of Ewura Esi in their house at Corronation in Cape Coast, and whiles there, Eyi also came to the house to visit his children and left.
He said at about 20:30 hours, Mr Awuye left Ewura Esi's house and on reaching home heard a knock at his gate and in an attempt to enquire who it was, he was attacked by Eyi, who inflicted multiple razor blade wounds on his left arm, part of his face, chest and back, accusing him of having an affair with "his wife".
Chief Inspector Ockom said Mr Awuye managed to escape to a nearby house where he narrated his ordeal to the inmates who managed to arrest Eyi and handed him over to the police.
Mr Awuye was issued with police medical report forms to attend hospital.
He said the police visited the scene of the crime and found two razor blades stained with blood.
