The Headmaster of Ekumfi T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School at Essarkyir, Mr Mohammed Ackonu, hascommended the government on efforts it had been making to improve infrastructure in the school.
He said a six-unit classroom block was at the foundation level whilst renovation of a six-unit block and construction of a 12-unit block from the
Ministry of Education were yet to start.
The Headmaster appealed to the contractors who had won contracts to speed up work to solve the accommodation problem facing the school.
He made the appeal at a Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) meeting of the school at its premises.
He said since accommodation formed part of the crash programme of the government to solve the problem created by the extension of the Senior High School course from three years, it was important contractors working on the projects speeded up work.
Mrs Gifty Mantey, the chairperson of the PTA, commended the school authorities for the able manner they had handled the classroom and dormitory accommodation problem so far.
She appealed to parents and guardians to support the teachers to enable them to deliver.
