Two persons, including an 18-year-old pregnant woman, Djolo Dargati died on the spot when a truck in which they were travelling with 30 other passengers to Asueyi in the Techiman Municipality ran into a ditch.
The passengers were returning to Asueyi from Tanoboase, after attending a prayer session organised by the Apostles Continuation Church.
Mr Kesse Gibreel Labib, Municipal Director of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) made this known at Asueyi, when the
Brong-Ahafo Deputy Regional Minister, Mr Eric Opoku, who led a team comprising NADMO officials and the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alex Kofi
Kyeremeh, to pay a visit to the accident victims.
Mr Labib said those who sustained various degrees of injury were taken to the Holy Family Hospital at Techiman, while others were referred to Komfo-Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi where they were treated and discharged, whilst the dead, including Esther Abena, 25, have since been
buried.
Mr Opoku wished the victims speedy recovery and described the accident as unfortunate.
The Deputy Regional Minister later presented assorted items including four bags of beans, nine bags of rice, eight bags of maize, cooking oil, two cartons of washing soap, four bales of used-clothing, worth GH�2,000.00 and cash of GH�500.00 to the victims on behalf of NADMO.
