The Awutu Magistrate's Court on Wednesday slapped a fineof GHc400 on Evans Twumasi, unemployed, on the charge of stealing pieces of iron rods valued at about GHc500.
He pleaded guilty and would be jailed for six months in hard labour in default.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Helena Aidoo told the Court presided over by Mr Osei Darko that the accused was arrested with 88 pieces of iron rods in an uncompleted house.
She said two accomplices of the convict whose names were given only as Yaw and Appiah, were at large and were being sought by the police.
