A 32- year farmer at Bayerebon Number Five in the Atwima-Mponua district has been ordered by the Bibiani Magistrate Court to pay a fine of GH�500.00 for stealing a quantity of cocoa beans.
Kofi Sarfo pleaded guilty to the offence and would serve three months in jail if the defaults.
Police Inspector Lucky Gogolomi told the court presided over by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako that the complainant, Mr George Gyan, had heaped fresh cocoa beans on his farm at Bayerebon Number Five to ferment.
The convict sneaked to the farm and stole some of the fresh beans.
Mr Gyan detected the theft and acting upon tip off traced the beans to a secret location where it was being dried by Sarfo.
A report was made to the police and he was arrested.
