A Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced Theodore Gbone and six farmers, all of Gbi-Kledzo for conspiring to trespass and trespassing on a piece of land under litigation in the Hohoe Municipality.
They are Paul K. Gbone, Felix Gbone, Henry Tsetse, Dorothy Tsetse, Siegfried Tsetse and Henry Kango, who were found guilty on each charge and fined accordingly.
They were sentenced to a fine of 180 Ghana cedis and 120 Ghana cedis each to run concurrently, or in default serve five months jail term in hard labour.
Assistance Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Benjamin Dadzie, prosecuting told the court presided over by Mr Edward Apenkwa that
complainant Alphonse Kofitse and the convicts were litigating a piece of land in which judgement was delivered in favour of complainant in 2003.
He said in August 2007, Theodore and the six convicts defied the court ruling and made an entry into the land and created boundary paths in it.
ASP Dadzie said a report was made to the Police and the convicts were arrested after they admitted the offence in their caution statement.
