Kerala Catholic Federation (KCF) Monday described the dismissal of college lecturer T. J. Joseph, whose right hand was chopped off by PFI activists, as "Talibanism" practised by the Catholic Church.
The decision of the management of the Newman College, a Christian institution, was "unkindest cut of all", KCF Chief Joy Paul Pudussery said in a statement here.
Joseph, who faced the brutal attack for preparing a question paper with derogatory reference to Prophet Mohammad, was last week sacked by the college on grounds of hurting religious sentiments.
Pudussery alleged that the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) and the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) have transgressed all the boundaries of "morality" by justifying the "heinous" act of the college management.
