Mr. Mark Woyongo, the Upper East Regional Minister, has appealed to people of the north to stop getting their tribesmen victimized.
He said they should avoid backbiting and the tendency to destroy one another bcause this retarded the development of the area.
Mr Woyongo said this when the new Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Prof Haruna Yakubu, called on him.
He expressed unhappiness about the way northerners were pulling one another down for no obvious reasons and said unless such negative attitudes were stopped northerners would continue to be marginalized.
Mr Woyongo appealed to the Vice Chancellor to remain steadfast and to focus on his duties and
expressed the hope that the cordial relationship between the Regional Coordinating Council and the UDS would further be enhanced.
Prof Yakubu said he would work hard to develop the University and the country as a whole.
He appealed for the tarring of all roads on the various campuses of the University to make movement on these campuses easy.
