The total number of those infected with H1N1 influenza in Kerala has risen to 25 with ten more confirmed swine flu cases being reported since
Thursday, officials said on Friday.
Since the outbreak of swine flu last year, 46 persons have died in Kerala state in south India.
Besides swine flu, 8508 cases of different types of fever were reported from various parts of the state.
The state has also 21 dengue, seven rat fever (Leptospirosis) and two chikungunya patients, a health department release said.
State Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan had said district medical authorities had been instructed to focus on tackling the situation arising out of infectious diseases.
Civic bodies had also been roped in for mosquito-control and garbage removal drives.
