Nine communities in the Awutu Bontrase-Nfadwen-Ayiresu Electoral Area in the Awutu-Senya District of the Central Region have been connected to the National Electrification grid.
The communities are; Awutu Bontrase, Awutu Kokobeng, Awutu Anim Akubrefa, Awutu Mfadwe, Awutu Nkwadum, Akubrefa, Odotom, Ayiresu and Bentum.
The Assembly Member for the area, Mr Daniel Asomani who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Winneba, commended the
government for the development programme and asked the people to use the electricity judiciously to improve on their lot.
While commending the ruling National Democratic Congress, for other projects such as school buildings, teachers' quarters, roads and provision of potable water, he called for urgent steps to connect the remaining six communities in the area to the national grid.
Mr Asomani appealed to the people to use the electricity to establish small-scale businesses and other income generating ventures to improve their
living condition.
He said under the Millennium Development Authority the Awutu Obrachire-Bontrase-Awutu Beraku road has been tarred.
