The Minister of the Interior, Mr Martin A.B.K. Amidu, has on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council, and by Executive Instrument, renewed for a week the curfew imposed on the Bawku Municipality and its environs.
A statement the Minister signed in Accra said the curfew hours remained from 6:00pm to 6:00am each day.
The statement said, "Government continues to appeal to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and the people of the area to work towards
bringing lasting peace to the area".
It reiterated that there is a ban on all persons in the Bawku Municipality, Zabugu, Binduri, Pusiga, Zoasi and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and any person found violating the directive would be arrested and prosecuted.
