Severe flooding following heavy downpour on Thursday night at Asante-Mampong wrecked properties and left many people homeless.
A twelve-bedroom house totally collapsed and about 40 occupants now have no shelter.
Also carried away by the flood were commercial items including bags of rice, cement, sugar, flour and personal belongings, running into thousands of GH Cedis.
The worse affected area was the Tadiem suburb, where construction work by a private developer had blocked the water way.
Mr Moro Iddrisu, the Municipal Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), who accompanied the Municipal Chief
Executive, Mr Daniel Appau Ohyeaman and other members of the security committee to inspect the damage, attributed the flooding to the blockade by the developer.
He said his outfit was assessing the extent of the damage and the support that could be given to the victims.
