Kwadwo Darko, a truck pusher, was on Friday arraigned before the Asamankese Circuit Court for raping a married woman.
Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siameh that Darko lives in the same house with the victim and her husband at Old Zongo at Asamankese.
She said on April 08 the husband left home for work and there was no one else in the house except Darko and the victim.
The prosecutor said later in the day at about 1000 hours when the victim was taking her bath, Darko pounced on her and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her twice on the floor.
Though the victim shouted for help no one went to her aid and she reported her ordeal to her husband on his return from work in the evening.
The prosecutor said that same evening the woman and her husband went to the police station and reported the incident.
In court Darko denied being at home at that time on that day, having left for work at about 0630 returning home around 2030 hours.
The judge then advised the accused to file a plea of alibi giving the police particulars of witnesses which would assist them in their
investigations.
The court remanded him in prison custody until May 05.
