Eminent Indian-American doctor Ajeet R Singhvi has been elected as the new president of American Association of Physicians of India Origin (AAPI).
Singhvi and other office bearers of AAPI - one of the largest and influential body of doctors in the US - were elected at its annual board meeting held in Washington over the weekend.
"I am very pleased to announce that our recent
elections have successfully concluded and I would like to congratulate the new leadership that will take AAPI forward after our national convention in June," said Dr Vinod K Shah, outgoing AAPI president.
Other office bearers are Sunita Kanumury,
president-elect; Narendra Kumar, vice-president; Jayesh Shah, secretary; and Ravi Jahagirdar, treasurer.
While Priya Kundra was elected president of the Young Physicians Section; Mamta Singhvi was elected president for Medical Students, Residents and Fellows Section.
