Mr Mike Hammah, Minister of Transport, on Tuesday asked candidates writing this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) not to panic but to be careful in approaching all the subjects.
He said examinations were the processes of testing not only the knowledge but the attitude, composure and ability of individuals to withstand or cope with moments of anxiety.
These were contained in a statement signed by Mr. Kweku Sersah-Johnson, Public Affairs Director of the Ministry.
It said the Minister gave the goodwill message and encouragement to the candidates, especially those in his Constituency, during a tour of various
examination centres in Winneba on Monday April 19, when the examinations started at all centres nationwide.
Mr Hammah, who is also Member of Parliament for Efutu Constituency in the Central Region, asked the candidates to remain calm and avoid cheating
as success came as a reward for hard work and determination.
The Minister said he was hopeful that candidates form the Efutu Constituency would acquaint themselves creditably to bring honour and glory to themselves, their parents, the constituency and the nation at large.
He was accompanied on the tour by the Efutu Municipal Chief Executive, Nii Ephraim and the Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Elizabeth Enimil.
