Isaac Aheme, a 35-year old farmer from Assin Senchem, who allegedly defiled a 10-year old girl was, on Thursday, arraigned at the Assin Fosu District Magistrate's Court charged with defilement.
His plea was not taken and was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.
According to the Prosecution, on March 10, the parents of the victim attended a funeral and left their children, including the victim, at home.
At about 2000 hours, when they returned home, all the children were present except the victim who was not seen until the next day.
The Prosecution said the girl told her parents that she was also at the funeral grounds and danced the whole night and failed to disclose the ordeal she went through to them.
It said when the girl went school later in the day, teacher detected that she was not walking properly and, therefore, sent for her parents.
It said the victim's peers later disclosed to the teacher that they saw blood in her urine when they went to the urinary.
The Prosecution said when the victim was questioned again, she told her parents that while at the funeral grounds, the lights suddenly went off and someone she later identified as the accused covered her mouth with a piece of cloth and pulled her to the veranda of a clinic and forcibly had
sex with her.
