The timely arrival of a Police patrol team from Dzodze prevented a gang of armed robbers from robbing passengers on the Dzodze-Tadzewu road, on Monday.
The gang blocked the road and shot into a vehicle carrying passengers but fled into the bush on spotting the Police.
Some people from Tadzewu, who were attracted to the area by sound of shots fired by the Police, assisted the patrol team to arrest Amadu Grumah,
30, believed to be member of the gang.
Briefing the GNA in Ho, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr David Ampah-Benin, Volta Regional Police Commander said Grumah who was injured in his attempt to escape had been sent to the Police Hospital in Accra.
He commended the residents of Tadzewu for assisting the Police to apprehend the suspect and said the Police and the Military were undertaking
a joint "operation calm life" in the region against such criminals.
