Four pregnant girls and nursing teenage mother with a six-month old baby are taking part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at some centres in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
This came to light when Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister and the Reverend Samuel Amankwaah, the Regional Director
of Education, visited some centres at Dormaa West Municipal, Dormaa East and Sunyani West districts on Tuesday.
Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo said he was impressed about the courage of the pregnant candidates and the teenage mother.
Police personnel were deplored at all centres to ensure law and order.
Three girls registered to take the examination at the Roman Catholic Centre Two in Techiman could not turn up to take the examination because they are pregnant.
Two others, a male and a female of the same centre were reported to have died after they had registered whilst two other boys could not take the examinations at Roman Catholic center one because of illness.
