Candidates taking this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at the Mater Ecclesiae Preparatory School at Sokode-Gbogame were more composed, disciplined, orderly and
punctual than last year's candidates.
Mr Asempa Avorfodi, the Supervisor at the Centre, told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday that last year's candidates caused a lot of commotion during that examination.
Mr Avorfodi said the number of candidates taking the examination at the centre had reduced from 248 last year to 209 candidates.
Mr Avorfodi attributed this to the migration of many Junior High School students from the area to Ho.
He said a female candidate from Akrofu-Xeviwofe was not present for the examination having been taken ill due to food poisoning.
Mr Avorfodi commended a pregnant female candidate who was writing the examination in a "well composed manner."
"She looked like a candidate who could come out very successful," he said.
Mr Amefodi said though no first aid provision was made in case of any unforeseen health problems among candidates, the infirmary at the Mater Ecclesiae Convent could come in handy should any such situations arise.
"The environment here is ideal', he said.
