The world recognises him as a megastar, but Amitabh Bachchan's wife Jaya, a renowned actress in her own right, feels Dilip Kumar was the "last superstar" of Bollywood.
"I don't believe in super stars. Anyway I think there are no super stars now. Dilip Kumar was the last superstar," she said.
At an interaction with reporters here, Bachchan said, it was time for the younger generation to take over in the Indian film industry.
She said, the younger generation should take on the current superstars in Bollywood and it can even be Shah Rukh Khan with whom she shares a special bond.
"I have a special bond with Shah Rukh as I played his mother in a film (Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam)," she added.
Asked whether Khan was better than Amitabh, she said, "Of course not. You are asking a wife".
On whether she would like to act in a film with her political mentor Amar Singh, she said, "I would not make this mistake".
"I can do politics with him, but not act," she
quipped.
Asked about her future film ventures, the actress said, there should be reservation for women in the film industry also, specially for elderly actresses as very few good roles come their way.
