The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has been honoured with the prestigious Music Legend award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the industry, at the 7th Ghana Business Awards held at Kempinski Hotel in Accra recently.
Last year, the Music Legend honour was conferred on renowned Highlife artiste, Amandzeba, highlighting his legacy of excellence in Ghana's music industry.
Being conferred with the honour is a great joy to Bessa Simons. “I am highly elated by the honour and I thank the organisers for the recognition. I dedicate it to the members of MUSIGA for their support,” he said.
Other notable winners at the event included top business leaders and innovators across various sectors who have contributed to national development.
The Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Hon. Egyapa Mercer, in his keynote address which was delivered by the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr Patrick Ankobiah, commended the business industry players and encouraged them to pay attention to the potential of tourism, arts sector in job creation.
Latif Abubakar, the C.E.O of Globe Productions, the organisers, expressed his appreciation to the business community for the support they continue to offer the awards scheme which aims at showcasing excellence in the Ghanaian business community.
