It was an intense eviction episode for all, but especially for a tearful Wanni, who saw both her twin and her boyfriend evicted from the house in one fell swoop. That’s right: Handi and Shaun have been evicted. But that wasn’t all – Tjay was also voted out of Biggie’s house.
That leaves 11 housemates still in the running for the grand prize of GH¢100,000 and a brand-new car – with just two weeks until the finale.
First to go was Handi, whose eviction left the house stunned. Speaking to BBNaija host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, she said: “It’s so hard leaving the love of my life [Wanni] in the house, but I had the feeling I was gonna go, so I had already prepared for the worst.”
Evicted next was Tjay, who said “nobody should have long faces, abeg” while hugging his former housemates. Clad in a tailored suit, he told Ebuka: “I didn’t think I was gonna get to this point. There are so many strong characters and strong competitors, but I think I did very well.”
Finally, it was Shaun’s turn to be evicted, leaving Wanni inconsolable. “I kind of felt it in my heart that today would be the day I would probably leave. I had a hard week… but I’m happy to be here. I had a good run – eight weeks in the house is a blessing,” he said.
Also up for eviction were Anita, Kassia, Nelly, Onyeka, Victoria and Wanni.
The week leading up to the eviction show was filled with plenty of chaos and drama. For starters, Big Brother issued the first strikes of the season as Kassia, Handi, Shaun, and Wanni were found guilty of conspiracy.
During the live eviction show, Ebuka asked Kellyrae about his thoughts on Biggie’s strikes, especially since his former duo partner (and secret wife) Kassia was one of those who landed in hot water.
Kellyrae said: “I wasn’t happy about it. I’ve repeatedly told her that at this moment we should all be very, very careful with our words.”
On the bright side, the housemates enjoyed their third wager win, led by Head of House Sooj.
With secret comments exposed for all to know and a triple eviction on the heels of last week’s double eviction, the stakes have never been higher in the house. As Ebuka said: “I hope the housemates don’t forget that this is a competition and that their destiny lies with them and the voting public.”
What do the final two weeks of Big Brother Naija Season 9 have in store for us? Keep watching to find out.
