Creator/Streamer Kai Cenat, recently toured West Africa, visiting both Nigeria and Ghana. While in Ghana, the founders of premium Ghanaian streetwear brand, Chalé Clothing, gifted Kai with a customized jersey and other items from their collection as a welcome gift.
On his first stream upon returning home to NYC, Kai wore the Chalé jersey paired with Yzy sweatpants in a controversial post that has now gone viral due to Ye's disapproval of how he felt his product was portrayed.
Kai displayed the extremely oversized Yzy pants which fell to the ground while the custom Chalé jersey, however, was the perfect fit!
"We learned about Kai Cenat's arrival in Ghana and felt inspired to offer him a welcome gift that truly reflected the vibrant spirit of Ghana, aiming to make him feel at home and connected to our culture. As a brand, Chalé (a Ghanaian term meaning friend) represents friendship, and extending this friendship to our global community is paramount to us," says Chalé Clothing co-founder, Kurtis Kudjo.
Chalé Clothing is a premium streetwear brand founded in Accra, Ghana that is inspired by global African youth culture, Afrobeats music, and Ghanaian heritage such as the use of Adinkra symbolism in their designs. Brothers and co-founders, Kurtis Kudjo and Mawunyo Agbeko leverage their unrivaled craftsmanship and authentic creativity to create unique products in their collection that include unisex sweaters, sweatshirts, jerseys, graphic tees, socks, and other accessories that have become desired by fashion enthusiasts across Africa, Europe and the US.
"We were thrilled when Kai expressed immediate interest in our Love Ghana jersey tank top, exclaiming, "I need this!" Seeing Kai wear our gift on his first stream after his visit to Africa infused our team with positive energy and resulted in numerous product inquiries," adds Chalé co-founder Mawunyo Agbeko.
