Abdoulaye Nderguet is listed among the musicians who are raising the flags of Africa higher through music. The Chadian singer vibrated the roots of African music as he took charge on stage at this year’s Accra Jazz Festival powered by Alliance Francaise. Nicknamed the “Rossignol du chad”, the nightingale of Chad, Abdoulaye Nderguet sings the Arabic songs of Chari-Baguirmi, the rhythm, and dance of Boulala, as well as the lullabies and funeral songs of the Sahr.
As dynamic as he is, Abdoulaye also performs traditional music of the South. He is involved in musical training in Chad by favouring the mixture of Chadian sounds with other musical styles. In 1996, Abdoulaye sang at the Fest' Africa with Papa Wemba and was a finalist at the RFI Discovery competition. In 1997, he joined the Tibesti group and developed his first album, Esprit, but later formed his own known as the Shila-Shila group.
In 2000, Abdoulaye performed at the Ngombi Festival and this was followed by a Tour of Fest' Africa in France with the group H'Sao. Abdoulaye is involved in other humanitarian activities apart from doing music. In 2012 for instance, he became an ambassador for the “fight against malaria campaign” in New York. Currently, he is an ambassador for peace in the Sahel by the NGO Afric'ompetence. Abdoulaye learned from renowned musicians such as Rey Lema and Pierre Lagneau, Balsa with HSAO (2000), Voix de sable (2009), and Monde Immoral (2013). This helped him to perfect his skills in harmony and guitar.
Abdoulaye has collaborated with other African artists in several other concerts. In 2014, he was featured at the MASA Festival in Abidjan. At the end of 2019, Abdoulaye was the guest of Bex'Tet led by French jazzman, Emmanuel Bex and singer, Seba from Gabon.
In October 2020, he was invited to the Gérard-Philipe Theater (Saint-Denis) by the Bext'Tet to record the album L'âme du Blues au Triton.
The singer wants to be remembered by the world as an actor for peace.
