Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise apparently doesn't like people running on-screen with him, according to his The Mummy co-star Annabelle Wallis.
Wallis, who played archaeologist Jenny Halsey in the 2017 action movie alongside Cruise's US Army Sergeant Nick Morton, told The Hollywood Reporter that Cruise initially told her that she wouldn't be running on-screen next to him.
But Wallis set out to change her co-star's mind – and she succeeded.
"He's on a different level, and, you know, I ticked a box," she said. "I got to run on-screen with him, but he told me no at first. He said, 'Nobody runs on-screen [with me],' and I said, 'But I'm a really good runner'.
"So, I would time my treadmill so that he'd walk in and see me run. And then he added all these running scenes. So, that was it. It was, like, better than an Oscar. I was so happy! I was so happy that I got to run on-screen with Tom Cruise."
She added that she 'loves' talking about Cruise, praising his dedication to film.
"He means business, and he loves this business," she said. "I think people are in awe of that kind of passion and love for cinema and a desire to excel, to keep growing and keep pushing boundaries."
It sounds like Cruise has found a reliable on-screen running partner if he's in need of one again in future.
Wallis is also well-known for her role in BBC drama Peaky Blinders as Grace Shelby and although Grace is no longer a part of the show, the actress hinted that she's always up for making a comeback, no matter how seemingly impossible.
"I just loved her (Grace), and I'm so grateful to (creator) Steven Knight. And Cillian (Murphy, who plays Thomas Shelby) and I are great friends," she said.
"Me and Cillian, we call Peaky Blinders the gift that keeps on giving. I mean, I don't know if the road is done just yet. We'll have to wait and see."
