THOSE bashing veteran Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong for featuring Sarkodie on his latest song, Ahobrase3, have to stop talking because he says he is ready to feature more secular artistes on his upcoming album.

On the new album titled Evergreen, he is featuring secular acts such as Samini, Kwesi Arthur and Obrafour.

Last Friday, February 28, Yaw Sarpong had a chat with Graphic Showbiz and he disclosed that a few of his colleagues were not amused that he had collaborated with Sarkodie but he saw nothing wrong with it.

“I don’t see why they were complaining because I see nothing wrong with featuring someone who is loved by both the young and the old. Besides what he did on the song was Gospel,” he stated.

According to the Wo Haw Ne Sen artiste, Evergreen will also feature Sonnie Badu, Obaapa Christy, Joe Mettle, Winneba Youth Choir, to mention a few.

Since Ahobrase3 was officially released on Monday, March 2, it has received mainly positive feedback from music lovers, and Yaw Sarpong couldn’t be more excited.

Talking of how he managed to get Sarkodie on the song, he said about three years ago, Sarkodie granted an interview while on a visit to the US and said he listened to his (Yaw Sarpong’s) songs a lot.

“Someone drew my attention to it and I decided to look for him. I was asked to contact Andy Dosty of Hitz FM which I did and you can imagine how excited I was when I received a call from Sarkodie saying he had been looking for me for a very long time.

“He invited me to his wedding at the Labadi Beach Hotel and there too, he acknowledged me telling everyone that he has been listening to me since his childhood. We even did one of my songs at his wedding and planned to do a collaboration, and here we are today,” he said.

Ahobrase3, which was composed by Yaw Sarpong, talks about humility and how people should try to live a simple life when God grants them riches and wealth.

The musician narrated a sad story of how he almost lost his life and realised that life is very precious and must be lived in the simplest and respectable way possible.

The song is one of the tracks on Evergreen which is produced and mixed by Sammy Helwani, Nacee, Shadrack Yawson and ceedi3gh. The executive producer is Nana Kobo of Nana Kobo Ventures.

According to Yaw Sarpong, the video for Ahobrase3 will be shot soon. He encouraged everyone to be humble. “If you are humble, God will raise you up. We will all die so you need to leave a good legacy,” he stated.
