Ghana’s prime urban contemporary Christian lifestyle television channel was launched this past weekend at the plush Watershed in Kumasi in what has been touted as one of the most anticipated events on the Christian media landscape.
Cosmopolitan TV is the television arm of the media network of the Christ Cosmopolitan Incorporated. It is a free to air channel that operates on the First Digital Plus platform from its operational base in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
The Cosmopolitan TV launch was a magnificent occasion, which perfectly captured the urban Christian culture and lifestyle of the Christ Cosmopolitan commission.
It was an event that was marked by excellence, rich culture and high-spiritedness summing up the whole experience of television re-definition. The auditorium was lavishly decked with state-of-art trappings of a festal gathering, replete with an impressive display of coloured lights.
At 1800 hrs GMT, the invited guests began to arrive, smartly clad in Cosmopolitan TV branded shirts, and each escorted by a competent security detail provided by the Management of the event. They were welcomed gracefully and courteously by the RSVPs of the event.
The Cosmopolitan Choir kick started the program with thrilling tunes from their maiden album Christ’s Anthem, which captured the entire audience in heavenly ecstasy. Patrons were subsequently treated to a captivating video, which presented the total television experience that the Cosmopolitan TV brand offers.
The launch was compèred by the articulate Pastor Danny Boateng Kusi and the stunning Miss Malaika 2012, Sharon Bridget Cofie who were in perfect sync through the night. The well-scripted event flowed seamlessly with no outstanding hitches.
Talented entertainers and artistes impressed the audience with spoken word and drama, after which the Presbytery of Christ Cosmopolitan Incorporated led by the man of God, Pastor Obed Obeng-Addae launched the Cosmopolitan TV Logo amidst prayers and prophecies.
Parrot Mouth, the Ghana based Nigerian comedian had the audience in stitches as he delivered an outstanding stand-up comedy performance. Gospel acts, Uncle Ato and Francis Amo, each led the congregation in a vibrant time of singing to God’s glory.
New musical acts from CCI; Starbryt, Linda and Flow performed a rap-sung collaboration to the delight of all. Key personalities in Ghana’s media and entertainment landscape such as Majid Michel, Pascal Amanfo, Nana Ama McBrown, Emelia Brobbey, Owusu-Aboagye and Timothy Bentum were present at the Launch.
A sensational high point of the night was the passionate performance on the saxophone by the man of God, Pastor Obed backed by the Cosmopolitan Band. The well-produced show gave patrons an experience of a lifetime. The launch of Cosmopolitan Television has signalled the beginning of an unparalleled television experience captured in the tagline Redefining Television with Christ.
