Leading food manufacturers, Promasidor Ghana Limited on Saturday night broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Feast Table at an event held in Accra.
They beat the previous record (1,508 metres) held by Saudi Arabian company Afia International by over 400 metres setting the new mark at 1,928.18.
Officials of the Guinness World Records in a message via a video call confirmed that the record will stand in the name of Onga, Promasidor's flagship seasoning product.
Over 3,000 guests including children from selected orphanages in Accra were treated to jollof on the lengthy and winding table constructed at the Black Star Square after it had been measured by Mr Dephor Galley, a Quantity Surveyor from the Lands Commission of Ghana.
Madame Emmeline Tagoe, the Brands Executive of Onga said she was delighted about the feast because it was attained in Ghana's 60th anniversary.
"This event was to make a bold statement, not only for Onga but for Ghana as a whole. Onga is produced in Ghana and it employs many Ghanaians from production to sale in our markets.
She added that she was confident the record would stand for a while because it was a "clean-break".
"We consider it a triple record, we served over 3,000 people jollof under 15 minutes and also set the record".
Revellers at the mammoth event were later treated to a fireworks display and music by DJ Kess, Highlife icon Abrantie Amakye Dede and gospel songstress Ohemaa Mercy.
