Global consumer's confidence has recovered in the third quarter this year, showed by Nielsen Global Consumer's Confidence that rose 9 points to 86 from 77 in October, a survey's result said here on Monday.
The Nielsen Company Indonesia said that Brazil and a number of main countries in Asia showed twice than average in consumer's sentiment while the United States has started to show its first increase since 2007.
The Nielsen's Global Consumer Index examined consumer's confidence, main concern and spending by more than 30,500 Internet users in 54
countries.
Compared to six months ago, consumer's confidence heavily increased in 45 of 52 respondent countries.
"In April, Nielsen Consumer's Confidence Index showed its lowest point from 77 points. However, due to global massive stimulus, consumer's confidence gradually recovered," said Catherine Eddy, the company's executive director for consumer research, in a statement.
The increase of 9 points to 86 in October from 77 in April on global consumer's confidence showed that in the last six months most consumers got more optimistic.
Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC nations) showed impressive increase, with Brazil rising 12 points, Russia 4 points, India 8 points and China 6 points in the third quarter compared to second quarter.
Australia and New Zealand also showed increase of twice in consumer's confidence in the third quarter while two European economic giants, France and Germany, showed increase of 7 and 5 points, respectively.
She said that saving in hard times is still priority among the world's consumers, with two thirds of the respondent said that they would save their spare cash.
