Vodaphone "Commandos" have criticised the Sales
representatives of Vodafone Ghana in the Western Region for their refusal to pay their commissions that had accrued over the past five weeks.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview after a demonstration in Takoradi on Tuesday, they said the act of the regional sales officers were hampering their operations and creating tension between them.
The agents who are also known as freelancers were recruited by personnel of the Western Regional Main office of Vodafone this year and given assurances of a base of 100 Ghana Cedis every month in addition to their commissions.
They said, soon after they were engaged, they were informed that the 100 Ghana cedis was no longer feasible and that they will be paid based on commissions from sales they made within a week.
Master Joe Okyere, spokesperson for the group said they had not received any commission payments between the last three to five weeks and
this was having serious negative effects on them.
He said: 'we are compelled to borrow from people to meet our increasing expenditure in anticipation of the payment of the commissions which have still not been paid".
They therefore called on the management of Vodaphone Western Regional Office to expedite action in the payment of their commissions without any further delay.
"We are suffering and need our monies without any delay to ease the tension among us and our families", they stressed.
The regional sales officer Mr. A. Amadu, when contacted declined to speak to the GNA.
